Suski Grind is a trick where you do a 5-0 grind while keeping the nose of the board pointed sideways (toward the opposite side of the box). This stylish grind trick, popularized by Aaron Suski, feels like a mix between a 5-0 grind and a Backside Tailslide.
Interestingly, this trick resembles a common mistake that many skaters encounter when learning the Backside Tailslide—failing to complete the full 90-degree turn upon entry and instead grinding in a position similar to a 5-0. Keeping that in mind can actually make it easier to intentionally land the Suski Grind.

STEP BY STEP TIPS
1. Approach

Approach to the box at a sharp angle—not completely parallel, but close to it. Your stance can be whatever feels most comfortable, similar to an ollie or 5-0 grind. During the grind, your body will be almost sideways in relation to the box, so to make it easier to rotate your upper body, slightly twist toward the frontside and commit to the trick.
2. Entry

Imagine a 5-0 grind as you ollie, while turning your upper body and board toward the backside as you lock in the trucks. The movement feels like a perfect balance between a 5-0 grind and a backside tailslide.
3. Steady Grind

Keep your upper body almost sideways, but maintain your gaze in the direction of travel to stay balanced. Press down on the tail with the front part of your back foot to stabilize the grind.
If your weight is too far over the coping, it can make grinding difficult, so try to keep some weight over the board while finding a stable balance.
4. Out of box resetting your form and board

Once you have smoothly grinded, bring the nose back to the front, while also slightly turning your upper body forward as you exit.
