Frontside Tailslide is, as the name suggests, a trick where you slide using the tail. Since your body faces the direction of travel during the slide, frontside tends to feel more stable. However, it takes some technique to lock the tail onto the coping and keep the slide steady.
STEP BY STEP TIPS
1. If you press down on the tail too much, it will not slide.

The most important thing to watch out for during a tailslide is shifting your weight too far toward the curve in an attempt to place the tail on the coping, which causes you to press down on the tail with your back foot. When this happens, the board will either not slide at all or stop sliding almost immediately. Be mindful of this as you practice.
Approach with sharp angle.

Approaching the curb at a slight angle rather than head-on makes the motion easier. Start off without too much speed, and gradually increase it as you get more comfortable.
3. Lock in with just the tail.

Keep your weight centered over the middle of the board, slightly outside the coping, and pop a straight 90° ollie to lock in just the tail onto the coping. This will help you smoothly transition into the slide.
4.Keep your balance on center of the board.

Even after the tail locks in and the slide begins, keep your weight centered over the middle of the board to maintain the slide. To come out of the slide, turning your nose in the direction of travel will help you exit smoothly.
5. Make little space between edge of tail and the coping.

As mentioned earlier, one key point is not putting too much weight on the tail. To help with that, try to keep a slight gap between the edge of the tail and the coping at all times. This will allow the tail to slide smoothly without getting stuck.
